$1.00 Auction Purchase

Hi all!  I hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend.

I had to share my latest on-line auction find with you.  I bought this cute pottery picnic basket for a whopping $1.00!  Delores at Vignette Design  has a picture of this basket in her header and I have always
    loved it.

I still have to buy plants for the container but I was so excited I couldn't wait to show you.  In the meantime here is a picture and listing at FCL Style  for the same planter.  FCL Style is a sister company to Pierre Deux.

What I Took Home From Lucketts

Blogger is still giving me fits.  First I couldn't leave comments then when I previewed my new post the sentences were all spread out in a wacky way.  Three letters on one line and the rest of the word on the next line...ughhh!  Now I can't see my followers.  Okay Blogger, enough is enough!

Now with that out of my system I can show you one of the things I bought for myself at Lucketts.  I should have the other things listed on Etsy in a few days.

I love my new pillow made from an old grain sack.

I would have loved to bought several of these for my Etsy shop but I got the very last one.

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

    Hugs,
    Sherry

You will find the link to add your post at the bottom of this post.  I am excited to see what everyone has been up to this week.

If you haven't seen the blog  Delight  you are in for a real treat.  Linda creates the
most beautiful displays and vignettes in her home...she is truly inspiring. This week we will be doing something a little different and feature some of Linda's very creative displays.

I know you will fall in love with Delight  just like I have.
    Enjoy the Tour!

You will have to visit Linda to see how she made this gorgeous lampshade and many other creative things.  Thank you Linda for graciously allowing me to feature your home this week.

I have not been able to comment on other blogs for several days now.  Once Blogger is working correctly I will try to catch up on my comments.  Please know I look at every link and try my best to leave a comment.  I so appreciate every one of you that participate in the party.

Market Photos

Just a quick post to show you some photos of  Luckett's Spring Market.  We had a
great time and we were even able to sneak in a trip to visit Restoration Hardware
and the Pottery Barn outlets and a couple of other antique malls.

I still have to photograph the items I bought so I'll post those later.  The market was wonderful this year though very crowded.  The only complaint I have is there were a large amount of HomeGoods type reproductions and the same ones seen over and over again in many of the booths.  Last years market had some wonderful European antiques that were missing this year.  I wonder if all
the reproductions are because of  the weak dollar in Europe and the high cost of shipping.

Overall it was a great market with lots of beautiful things. I did get to spend a few minutes with Marian of  Miss Mustard Seed  and her mother.  Marian and I had met for the first time last year at Lucketts. She was one busy lady on Saturday and I am happy to say that she had a very successful weekend at the market.

First are pictures of Lucketts Store which is open year round.

I wanted to take all this bedding home with me!

Because of the crowds I was not able to get many pictures of the actual market
but this will give you a taste of what was there.

I hope to see you at the
    Open House Party
    starting every Wednesday evening.

    Take care,
    Sherry

I'll be joining the party at  Savvy Southern Style.

Antiquing We Go!

    Hello everyone!

Tomorrow we leave for Leesburg, Va. to shop Lucketts Spring  Market.  This place is heaven with all the  shabby, rusty, euro country and lots of burlap and lace.  We are going a day early to visit Lucketts Store and several other antique shops before the crowds arrive.

Last year was so much fun and I found lots of cool stuff.   I hope this year to find some great things
     for my new Etsy Shop

Below are a few pictures from last year's market.

Loved the Chandys. They sold quickly.

    Miss Mustard Seed's shop.

I have closed my antique business and I am selling on Etsy exclusively now.  Once we make the move to
Orlando I will probably venture back into having a shop or renting space in an antique mall.  I do want to say thank you to those that have visited my Etsy shop and to those that have made a purchase.

    Thank You!

For you Country French lovers I have a wonderful valance in the shop. The valance was custom made
using Pierre Deux fabric.  How I wish I could have used it in this home.

There will be some exciting things happening at No Minimalist Here in late June.  It is hush hush for now but I can tell you it involves LOTS of giveaways!

I appreciate your visits and I always love to hear from you.

In Love With An Italian

No,  I haven't left my wonderful hubby for a Italian man.  Though,  if I could live anywhere in the world it would  be Venice.   Of course Steve would be be going with me and I bet I wouldn't have to twist his arm.

My new Italian love is this fabulous wall plaque that Gina of  Gina Ceramics  sent me.  She hand paints the most gorgeous Italian ceramics in the Renaissance style.  Gina was trained in Italy, Holland, Belgium and Germany and now lives and works in a small artist community in Utah.  She also teaches and is offering a workshop  this year on July 15-16 where you can learn to paint ceramics in the 500 year old Renaissance style. This workshop would be a dream come true for me and I would jump at the chance if the dates didn't conflict with our already planned vacation.  I hope to attend one of the workshops at a later date.

This is the plaque Gina hand painted.  Now you see why I am in love!

Below are just a few examples of Gina's ceramics.  To see more please visit her Blog or Etsy shop.
Thank you Gina for this wonderful gift!

Now that we have established my love for anything Italian I want to show you some of my collection.  Some of the pieces are already packed up so I'll show you those at another time.

There is a reason I chose an Italian themed post today.

We are going to Italy for our 2ND honeymoon!!

Reservations are made and now we just have to be patient until August.

I'll be back later with details.

    Partying this week with:
