Fall Giveaway Begins Now!

Hello everyone!  I wanted to do a giveaway in appreciation for those that take time out of their busy lives to read my blog. The encouragement and support I have received has been overwhelming.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Anytime I do a post with photos of my demijohns (wine bottles) I always get a lot of comments.  Below are some pictures of my collection.

Since so many of you seem to like these I will be giving the demijohn below from my own collection to the lucky winner.  Also included are the adorable patchwork pumpkin and gourd I purchased at the Fall Festival.

Sorry tray and sign not included.

CSN Stores

You  have all seen how generous CSN Stores are with their giveaways.  They contacted me and offered to send me a product of my choice to review.  Can it get any better than that?

With over 200+ stores to shop from the selection is amazing.  They sell everything from chandeliers, towels, bedding,  end tables  and small appliances.  Anything you may need  CSN Stores  sells and at a fantastic price.  I haven't quite narrowed it down to what I will choose yet.  I think it will be a surprise!  Thank you CSN.

Please check back this evening for my  Fall Giveaway.
    Take care.

Fall In Virginia

Last weekend we took two of our grandchildren to a Fall Festival.  The highlight of the event was the hay ride to the 100 acre pumpkin patch where you could choose your own pumpkins.

The grand kids each chose an orange pumpkin to take home with them.  I got a cream colored pumpkin and and a gray one.  Even the doll  Dora got a tiny pumpkin of her very own. We all had a good time at the "Fall" Festival except it was 98 degrees!!

I came home and put together my Fall decor in the morning room using the pumpkins we purchased.  They are so perfect that they don't even look real.  Vintage metal farm baskets hold flowers and tiny pumpkins. Two small Johnson Bros. platters and plates add to the Fall look.  A rattan basket holds my collection of antique antler handled serving knives and forks.

Please check back in a couple of days for a Fall Giveaway!  Thank you so much for visiting.

I will be joining the parties at :

I am having lunch with CHARLES FAUDREE!!

Charles Faudree  has been my favorite designer since I first saw one of his rooms.  I have all his books and anytime he has been featured in a magazine I have saved that issue. His work has been in all the major magazines and I think I have every one. I actually named this blog with Faudree in mind. Since I am his biggest  fan, you can imagine my excitement when I found out I could actually meet him!

Faudree will be at the Richmond Symphony Designer House  on September 30Th.  Included in the event will be a tour of  the spectacular 10,000 square foot Rothesay Home that has been transformed by forty very talented designers.  The gardens and eight acres overlooking the James River have also been revamped by  local landscape designers.

After the tour Faudree will be doing a presentation and book signing followed by a champagne lunch.  After lunch Faudree, and a group of designers that transformed the home, will be doing a panel discussion  and we will have the opportunity to ask questions about our own decorating dilemmas. .

The moment I found out about the event I rushed to buy tickets.  Can you tell how absolutely giddy I am?
I am sure you will be hearing more from me after meeting this amazing designer.  I wish all of you could go with me.
    Hugs,
    Sherry

Homearama Pictures

Last Saturday Hubby and I had a nice and relaxing day. We started the day by touring six new homes all decorated by different designers.  I recognized a lot of the furniture and accessories from Pottery Barn and Ballards.  It was a beautiful day and they had a band playing light jazz, a winery serving samples and different vendors set up with home improvement ideas.  I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the pictures I took of the homes.

All of the designers used grain and coffee sacks in the homes.

Recognize the shelf from Pottery Barn?  The tag on the wall would be an easy knock-off!

Every house had at least one room painted green. That's good news for me since I have several green rooms.

Love the colors and this desk! This was such a beautiful bedroom.

This is just a small sample of the eighty or so pictures I took!  Why so many?  You see the Homearama ends on October 3rd and the next day all the furniture and accessories go on sale to the public!  Remember I said there are lots of things from Pottery Barn and Ballards?   My pictures are of items I am interested in and  which house they are located.  I already talked one of the builder's wife into letting me see the price list and I could see things were very discounted.  I can't wait until October 4Th!

Thanks for taking this tour with me.

More Shopping!

A couple of days ago I showed you my booth in  West End Antique Mall.  Thank you so much for all the sweet comments left for me. I truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to comment.

Today we will go shopping in some of the other booths in the antique mall.  With 250 dealers you are sure to find something to take home.  Enjoy!

You have to know I love this booth .  They carry a lot of transferware.

This is one of only a few booths that carry painted furniture.

I would love to take the antique English water filter home with me.

There are hundreds of antique books in this space.

Do you see all the coral?  Gorgeous!

This reminds me of shops in England.

Thanks for stopping by and browsing the mall with me.  If  any of you are ever in Richmond I would love to go antiquing with you... I know all the great places.

Hello, Are there any Virginia bloggers out there?  The only one I am aware of  is Mikey at  Shabby French Cottage.  Mikey and I shop at the same places and I have to beat him there or all the good stuff is gone!  It seems like Georgia, Texas and California have the most bloggers and Virginia hasn't caught on yet.  If you do live in Virginia  I would love to hear from you.

I'll be joining the parties at  Colorado ladyColor Outside The Lines, Common Ground  and  My Romantic Home.

    xoxo,
    Sherry
