Basket Love & A Winner

I have always loved baskets, especially vintage one.  There is something about the texture
of rattan, willow and wicker that I absolutely adore.  Not only are baskets decorative but
    also great for storing things.

I have collected quite a few baskets over the years and I thought I would share
    some of those with you.

The two below are my newest additions.  These two identical baskets were found on the same
day at different estate sales.  They now hold some of my demijohns.

As you can see this vignette get changed around quite often.

One of my favorite baskets is this vintage cart.  I had to climb over a
pile of lawn mowers, tools and junk to get this cutie.

Baskets help keep me organized in my home office.

I use my vintage laundry basket a lot!

You  know my love for wicker covered demijohns

The bee skep is technically not a basket but I love the texture.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my collection.  I never pay much
for my baskets. Most of them are from thrift stores, estate sales, auctions and
antique malls.  I don't normally go looking for them....they just seem to find me!

Below is my dream basket from the movie It's Complicated.
I am on a quest to find this basket style table.
I can just hear hubby sighing now!

Open House Party

Welcome to the Open House Party.

I am so glad you are here and I look forward to seeing what you have to share this week.
The link to join the party is at the end of this post.

Today we will be touring the pretty home of Susan at  Days At Buttermilk Cottage.  Susan is one of the
sweetest ladies I have "met" through blogging.   I know many of you also adore her and her blog.

Thank you Susan for opening up your home for the Open House Party this week.

Susan and her sister Nancy share this wonderful 100 year old home that they have affectionately
    named Buttermilk Cottage.

Each year the neighborhood hosts a fund raiser yard sale to benefit the homeowners association.
Buttermilk Cottage opens a small bistro on their lovely porch.

Susan bakes and freezes for weeks for this event.

Cute home office with a pretty view of the garden.

Aren't these mice the most adorable thing..EVER?  I am so in love with these little creatures.
This year Susan knitted sweaters for 100 of these little guys for an upcoming fiber show.  I can see why she sold out the last two years.

I hope you will stop by for a visit at the wonderful blog  Days At Buttermilk Cottage  and check out the Etsy shop where Susan sells many of her beautiful knitted items.

Please also visit the blog  Nanniepannies which is written by Susan's sister.   Nancy has
a delightful blog where she features her love of gardening.

I hope you enjoyed touring another beautiful home this week.
    Thank you Susan!

Now on to the Link Party.

    Hugs,
    Sherry

Feature and Randomness

I hope you had a great weekend!

We had another showing of our house this weekend   That meant spending Saturday morning cleaning
at warp speed.  There have been no offers so far and this house selling is driving me crazy.  We clean the house spotless, just for someone to walk through and be out in less than ten minutes.  The gentleman
that looked at our house Saturday had more than a dozen other homes to look at over the weekend.
The competition is fierce in Richmond...uuggh!

I am really TRYING to take the attitude of  "it will sell when the time is right"
All I can say is the right time better get here soon!

I have to keep a sense of humor about the selling process and finding these photos did make me giggle.
There are actual pictures posted by real estate agents to the MLS.

Hmmm,   I wonder if these homes have sold?

    Home security system?
I can just imagine the owner vacuuming his collection.

Is the rest of the elephant on the other side of the wall?

I've seen bear skin rugs but what's up with the bear on the ceiling?

This bedroom has a lot of leg room to stretch out.
    What was this realtor thinking?

    Notice the ankle bracelet?

    Don't bother getting up.

Last but not least is my favorite photo.
Why am I driving myself crazy trying to keep our house clean?

Can you believe these photos were actually posted on the MLS?

    On to happier thoughts..

Tracy at  Screaming Sardine is doing a feature on me today.  If you want to see my husband's
pet name for me, or the strange thing I can not eat without peanut butter, then head over to
    check out the interview.

Tracy, Thank you for including me in your blog series!

    Hugs ,
    Sherry

Love the French Country bar stools.

    Isn't this a pretty kitchen?

I have had Christmas decorating on my mind lately and I love her cute trees.

Below are a few examples of items Sonya offers in her SHOP.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks home tour and I want to thank Sonya for opening up
her stunning home for the Open House Party.
